Consultant & Trainer
Cath is an experienced trainer with over 15 years of experience in the Health and Social Care Sector. As a qualified Social Worker, IDVA and trainer, she has delivered training across the South-West for a number of organisations including; Plymouth University, Mounts Bay Academy, Cornwall’s Refuge Trust, First Light, Trelya, Cornwall Housing, WAVES Counselling Services, WAVE Multi-Academy Trust, Cornwall County Council and CLEAR. She has also spoken at National and Regional Safeguarding Conferences. She has worked in frontline services for over 15 years working with Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence, Child Protection, Complex Needs, Child Sexual Exploitation, Peer on Peer Abuse and Young Offenders. Cath has worked alongside Police, Social Care, The Criminal Justice System, Health, Mental Health Services, Housing, Education and the Voluntary Sector. Cath has experience of working with both victims and offenders with complex needs.

Her work has included conducting Independent Safeguarding Audits, Independent Reports, and assisting in the development of professional practice, policies and procedures in relation to Safeguarding. She also has mangaerial and leadership experience across various sectors, and has undertaken service and evaluations consultations for a number of organisations.
Cath specialises in Safeguarding Children and Young People, Domestic Abuse, Trauma, Attachment and Child Sexual Exploitation. She continues to work with families and young people affected by abuse and exploitation, and provides external clinical supervision and consultancy around complex cases.

JO
Counsellor, Trainer & Supervisor
Jo is a qualified counsellor, supervisor, manager, advisor and trainer with over 16 years of experience working with vulnerable young people and adults in a trauma informed way. Not only a counsellor working with survivors of domestic abuse, violence, and perpetrators of abuse, she is a uniquely skilled trainer with over ten years of experience in delivering training to various agencies and organisations, including but not limited to counsellors, support staff, council staff, teachers, workers within justice and crime prevention, social workers and countless other frontline professionals.
She presently manages the WAVES Counselling Project, a county wide domestic abuse counselling service in Cornwall that receives hundreds of referrals each year, overseeing more than fifty counsellors trained and supervised by herself whilst also ensuring that the project is delivered with peak efficiency.
As a supervisor, she offers clinical supervision to several external agencies including schools, academies, IDVA’s, refuges, emergency services and counsellors. Jo has extensive knowledge and experience in working with trauma, domestic abuse and sexual violence, counselling, compassion awareness, abusive behaviours and supervision.
Jo not only believes in delivering ‘real’ training that uses case studies and narratives to bring the learning alive but aims to instill a long-lasting change and life learning in each student and professional that she works with. She speaks open and honestly about what she has learned over the course of her long career and does not shy away from a challenge or difficult situations. A thrill seeker and one with a creative flow in all aspects of her work.
